A Warm Welcome Awaits You!
MIHM may be one of the smaller halls of residence serving Manchester’s students, but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in heart. Our residents create a truly International and multicultural community where the focus is togetherness and support. This year MIHM celebrates its diamond jubilee. We have been offering our unique traditional accommodation for over 60 years. We may be a hall of residence, but we are also so much more.
Our residents cover a large range of academic discipline, making discussion and debate always interesting and engaging. As well as our wardens we also have live-in tutors and access to other academic support should students require it. We offer accommodation to both undergraduates and post graduates at all levels.
Some areas of study represented at MIHM include:
- Electrical Engineering
- Teaching Mandarin as a Second Language
- Hospitality and Catering
- Hotel and Tourism
- Environment Biology
- Sports Medicine
- International Development
- Cognitive Neuroscience
- Theology & Philosophy
A Truly International Hall
We are truly multinational and multicultural! We accept applications from all over the world, making life at MIHM a truly dynamic and interesting experience. Here are just some of the countries our residents represent:
The MIHM Community
One of the features of being at MIHM is our shared community life. Residents regularly come together for themed social events and outings. These are planned by the student committee, which is established at the start of every academic year. Following our regular Welcome Event, the committee puts together a calendar of activities for the term and for the entire year.
Activities don’t stop just because the universities are on vacation! MIHM is the only hall of residence in Manchester which is open every day of the year, so there is plenty to do during the vacations as well as in term time.
