Date: 5th November 2016
Remember, Remember, the 5th of November…
… Gunpower, Treason and Plot!
Bonfire night, also known as ‘Guy Fawkes Night’, is a peculiarly British celebration. Each year on 5th November we build bonfires and launch fireworks. Why? Because on 5th November 1605, Guy Fawkes failed to blow up the Houses of Parliament in the notorious ‘Gunpower Plot’.
These days it is common for organisations, local boroughs, big towns or entire cities to hold grand fireworks parties rather than holding these in private gardens. And here at MIHM we hold our own Bonfire Night Celebration!
There are a lot of foods associated with Bonfire Night. These include:
- Toffee Apples
- Treacle Toffee
- Black Peas
- Baked Potatoes
Make sure you’re around for our MIHM Bonfire Event!
